About leadershiplore.com

Inception

Initiated by Ronald L. Yoder, (Ron) whose journey of self-discovery and commitment to personal and leadership development revealed that one can profoundly impact the world around you, even as an ordinary individual. Recognizing the inevitability of influencing others positively or negatively throughout life, Ron encourages the development of leadership skills as an essential pursuit for everyone.

Background

Ron’s roots lie in a Northern Indiana dairy farm, and his unconventional path led him to voluntary service at a boys' camp in Colorado after high school. He delayed his college education until after starting a family with his wife, Jane. Drawn to industrial arts, Ron chose manufacturing as his vocation, accumulating 48 years of experience in the field. From 1978 to 1994, he served as a minority owner of Tite-Lok, and for the past 32 years, from 1994 to the present, he has been a co-founder and majority owner of Automated Products International LLC. Ron’s expertise in aluminum extrusion and processing equipment has resulted in over 20 design and utility patents, with applications spanning markets such as Light Truck Accessories, Communications, Sport Fishing, and Recreational Vehicles.

Leadership Focus

Parallel to his manufacturing pursuits, Ron devoted significant attention to building a robust organization and studied, observed, and learned from various companies, including customers, suppliers, and fellow businesspeople. His involvement with Leadership LaGrange County in 1999 led him to serve on the steering committee for several years, igniting a lasting passion for leadership and personal growth.

Grandfatherly Wisdom

In 2022, spurred by the contrasting experiences of his 16-year-old grandson excelling in football but facing challenges in basketball, Ron encouraged him to invest time in learning leadership skills. Stressing their universal relevance, Ron emphasized that leadership abilities are indispensable, regardless of the chosen life path. This encouragement evolved into a weekly leadership text series known as "Grandpa’s Leadership Text," which has persisted for two years, culminating in the creation of LeadershipLore.com—a testament to the enduring impact of Ron's leadership legacy.

Leadership Lore sounds the Watchman's Alarm

Leadership Lore sounds the alarm, akin to the Watchman on the Wall, calling out to young men, fathers, and grandfathers. It's time to awaken from the drowsiness induced by the material world and the daze of entertainment, leisure, and pleasure-seeking. Rise up and embrace leadership responsibilities for our families, our children, and our grandchildren. Wake up to heed the word of the Lord!

Deuteronomy 11:13

"Obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul."

Deuteronomy 11:18-21

Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.

Now, hear the resounding call to leadership!

Young men, fathers, and grandfathers, it's time to rise up and provide leadership for our families, our children, and our grandchildren."
